An Obsession With Butter

Well, I have now seen it all... I was just blog browsing over the holiday's and came across a blog about one man's obsession with butter. Yes, butter. You heard it. Whether this is the real thing or not, I could care less... it's a fantastic blog that I have to give a shout out to! Please go check out this blog, and follow... seriously funny stuff. My kind of humor for sure. Not to mention, there are some great butter recipes! Yes, I am serious about that.

Flavored butter rocks... good on crackers, toast, etc. Keith said that he has made some before... or someone in his family. Anyway, I have had some from the store... very good. So much better than standard butter. Anyway, totally off subject.... go check out the blog!

My Monsters

Austin played soccer last year and absolutely LOVED it! I got some great shots of him playing over the season. He even did a soccer camp in the fall, which is where this picture was taken. He was showing Renny how kick the ball and dribble it fast.... she picked up on it, somewhat. LOL... I love it when they play well together like this. It doesn't always happen this way, so I enjoy it while I can.

For this layout I used a sketch from Scrapsketch. Number 186 I believe.

Thanks for looking!

Through a Childs Eyes....

The world through a childs eyes is so amazing to me. What they see in the world is so different from how we adults see it. Looking in my children's eyes and seeing how they see something is so amazing to me. I can look at their eyes and know that they see things differently. They can be in awe of the littlest things... just like in the picture below with Serenity. She was instantly captivated by the fact that my dad (her Papa) had hidden an Easter egg in a bouquet of flowers.... she couldn't stop staring. She was excited and in awe all at the same time. I'll never forget that look. Not to mention, I have the picture to prove it!

I always try to remind myself to try and see the world through my kids' eyes before I judge. Sometimes you just may see what you originally saw differently.

I should also add that this was done using another Sketchy Thursdays Sketch.

I have had the rest of these photos of Serenity sitting around, and I FINALLY used them! Another old sketch from Sketchy Thursdays! I told you I was on a roll with their sketches! Whenever I want to get some layouts done quickly, I pull out one from my pile that came from Sketchy Thursdays... and voila, a awesome layout quickly made!

And even though she isn't alway, Renny is my "Sweet Girl!"

Mom and some Sketchy Thursdays Action

This is my mom! I have very few pictures of her since she hates to have her picture taken. I love this picture of her. She is so happy in it! This picture was taken the day that my parents saw their grandson (my nephew Aiden) for the first time. That is one of the reasons she is so happy. I finally made a layout with my mom in it with a recent picture. Any other layouts I have done have her when she was really young in them.

I used a sketch from Sketchy Thursdays for this layout. I have been playing with a lot of their old sketches since I don't really play along much. I do play, just on my own time. I did quite a few with sketches from there, as you will see!

Everything in layout is by Tinkering Ink, with the exception of the ribbon and Thickers which are by American Crafts and the photo mat which is DCWV. .

My Top Ten of 2009 with a Review

In no particular order, these are my top ten favorite layouts that I did in 2009. I can't wait to see what the New Year brings, can you??? This past year I scrapped on cardboard, painted, made a mess, scrapped about my butt, my kids, boyfriend, the blind, favorite catch phrases from my kids, and tons more.

This past year we lost someone very near and dear to us... Keith's Grandma Joyce. It feels like a part of the family is missing.... however, she will long live on in her family, friends, our hearts and in photographs for generations to come. I was very grateful that Keith did not mind me using some copies of photographs of her in layouts. I have enjoyed capturing her in my art, for others to see. Thank you to my Keith for allowing me to use these photos and scrap a person very precious and dear to all of us. It means a lot to me.

This year also brought a change in work for me. I lost employees and gained more work. Not a bad thing, but nothing particuarly great.

I turned 26, Serenity 4 and Austin 6. Keith, well... he is still young, we'll just say that! ( I won't do that to you keith!) Austin lost his first tooth this year and started Kindergarten while Renny got more sassy and started Pre-K.

Those are just some highlights..... and here are my Top 10 of 2009.... as I said, in no particular order!

Thanks for looking and Have a safe and Happy New Year!!!

Scenes from STL Christmas and Ohio Christmas

This was such a cool gift for Renny... she loves dollhouses!

All dressed up and opening some gifts at Steve and Joy's...

This was a cool gift as well... it is a a bunch of plane making stuff.... very cool. I think the adults had more fun with it...

Tickle tickle big brother! This is what happens when you ask my kiddo's to stand up for a picture. Renny decides to act out!

Finally, calmly opening some gifts with Joy..... seriously, you really believe they were calm?? LOL

A scene from the tree.... love this ornament. Very pretty.

Hope your holiday was wonderful and full of joy!

I'll have more pictures later!
